NEPSE Falls Back To 1900 Levels After Double Digit Loss of 12.93 Points; KBSH Hits Positive Circuit on First Trading Day

In today's trading session, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) Index closed at 1,998.28 points, as the index plummeted by 12.93 points or 0.64% compared to the previous day's closing. On the last trading day, the index experienced a loss of 21.99 points.

The session kicked off with the index opening at 2,012.46 and made an intraday high of 2,019.51. However, the market reached an intraday low of 1,991.81, before finally settling at the closing value of 1,998.28.

During today's trading, a total of 272 scrips were exchanged through 39,425 transactions, with a substantial volume of shares traded amounting to 4,163,872, representing a turnover of Rs. 1.40 Arba. Market capitalization stood at Rs. 29.90 Kharba, with a float market capitalization of Rs. 10.52 Kharba.

SHIVAM CEMENTS LTD (SHIVM) recorded the highest turnover of Rs. 8.02 crores and closed at a market price of Rs. 508.10.

Similarly, Laxmi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Ltd. (LLBS) and Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower Limited (KBSH) gained the highest 10% each and hit a positive circuit for the day.

Meanwhile, Menchhiyam Hydropower Limited (MCHL) lost the highest 7.99% today.

In terms of sector indices, all sector indices closed red. Hydropower Index lost the most with a 1.40 percent negative change while the Mutual Fund Index lost the least 0.18%.
