NEPSE experiences huge fluctuations today finally losing 6.87 points closing at 1,287.78; see if your holding made it to the top

NEPSE index has declined by 6.87 points or 0.53% today. The market had opened at 1,295.01, and kept fluctuating throughout the day. During the first hour the index experienced growth upto 16 points but during the later part the index started falling ultimately closing in red zone.

Despite the market closing at red zone today, we can see that the market has gone through some correction during the past few trading days. It is still too early to say, if the market has come back to its equilibrium.

Total turnover worth Rs 94.9 crore was witnessed during the trading hours as more than 26.27 lakh unit shares were traded in the whole day. The turnover is considerably high, but looking at the top turnover scrips we can see that most of this turnover is contributed by BOKLPO, while other scrips have considerably low turnover. 11,103 transactions were made for the transaction of the scrips.

Bank of Kathmandu Limited Promoter Share (BOKLPO) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than 12.29 crore worth shares were traded. Similarly, BOKLPO was also the top in case of number of shares traded as 5.79 lakh unit shares were exchanged.

Likewise, the top gainer for the day is Shrijana Finance (SFFIL) whose price increased by 9.96% closing at Rs. 265. And, Corporate Development Bank Limited (CORBL) was the top loser of the day losing 9.77% on its price. Similarly, the second top loser was Butwal Power Company (BPCL) losing 6% on its price after the announcement of cash dividend.

The sub-indices for all sectors except Others and Trading landed in red today. Out of all, Insurance and Hydropower were the top losing sector as they tumbled by 29.93 and 28.58 points respectively. Only sector landing in green today, Others, gained 2.91 points. Similarly Trading sector experienced no change today.
