NEPSE continues downward trend; last moment attraction towards Microfinance scrips leads the index to green

The market today went up by 11.37 points or 0.84%, which is the only green seen after quite a few days. However, the turnover was not that attractive amounting to only 38.06 crore. A total of 7.85 lakh unit shares were traded through 5,664 transactions throughout the day.

The market today had opened at 1,349.10 points today, which dipped down to 1,335.78 at around 1;30 pm. However, later the index picked up the momentum when investors started buying Microfinance scrips and ultimately ended in the green zone. Although this hasn’t totally corrected the market yet, seeing some green was soothing to eyes.

Swadeshi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha (SDESI) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than 2.7 crore worth shares were traded. Likewise, Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) stood at top in case of number of shares traded as 41,022 unit shares were exchanged.

 

Likewise, Miteri Development Bank (MDB) was the top gainer of the day as it gained 10% on its price and closed at Rs. 352. Similarly, Sindhu Bikash Bank (SINDU) was the top loser of the day losing 6.92% on its price closing at Rs. 148.

The sub-indices for all sectors except Finance and Manufacturing & processing increased today and landed in green zone. The insurance sector gained the most, going up by 107.01 points. Similarly, Manufacturing and Processing sector lost the most tumbling by 20.11 points.
