NEPSE Concludes The Week With 0.66% Loss and Turnover of Rs. 18.85 Arba; Weekly Summary with Sector Comparison, Major Highlights, and More

Part 1: Rundown and Technical Analysis

This week, the market traded for Three trading days, as  Monday was closed due to data issue and Friday was a public holiday to mark Indra Jatra.

The NEPSE Index closed at 2,629.81, down 17.41 points (0.66%). The index closed at 2,647.22 last week, up 3.43% from the previous week.

This week, the index reached a high of 2,671.04 and a low of 2,605.32, resulting in a volatility of  65.72 points. The index had seen volatility of 123 points in the previous week.

The highest intraday gain was 11.78 points on Friday, with a turnover of Rs 5.44 Arba; however, the total turnover for the week stood at Rs 18.85 Arba. 

Momentum Indicators

The RSI reading on the daily timeframe is 54.70. Meanwhile, the RSI reading on the weekly chart is 46.64.

Conversely, the MACD is above zero, and the Signal line is in the Negative zone, i.e., with the MACD reading at 3.55.

The Nepse Index is above both the 20-day Exponential Moving Average and the 5-day Exponential Moving Average. The Index above the short moving average indicates earlier bullish sentiment.

The 2,570 level may serve as the nearest support, while the 2,750 zone will act as a major resistance zone.
