Nepse close at high note

After two days of continuous decline in Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the local bourse gained an upward movement today. The benchmark index which opened at 392.01 level , firstly took a dip to take around 390 level but as the session progressed the improvement in the price of EBL,SCBL, ADBL along with other commercial banks scrips who have posted healthy profit in Banking sector helped the benchmark Nepse index to add points in its tally. It was overall a good day for Nepse which added 6.25 or 1.59% points with high turnover amount to close at high note of 398.26 level.
From today onwards the scrips of Kanchan Development Bank Ltd, Gulmi Bikas Bank Ltd, and Tourism Development Bank Ltd have been listed for trading with symbol KADBL, GULMI and TDBL respectively. Despite listing there were no traders for any of the scrips today.
Whereas among the traded scrips, Manakama Development Bank Ltd. (MKDBL), settled at Rs 74, was the top gainer with Rs 5 or 8.82% while among the stock trading above par value, Siddhartha Insurance limited (SIL),settled at 168, was the Top Gainer with Rs 15 or 7.69%. Likewise, Shikhar Insurance Co. Ltd (SICL), settled at Rs 243, with Rs 27 or 10% down was the Top Loser.
In case of the highest transaction, share traded and turnover, Chilime Hydro Power (CHCL) headed in all the three category. With the market speculation of high return from the CHCL, this scrip has become one of the attractive scrip in the market with high liquidity. In overall 128 transaction of 16,196 units worth Rs 16,620,236 was made of CHCL; in which Broker No 38 (Dipshika Dhitopatra Karobar Co. Pvt.Ltd) was the most active broker with 27.26% stand alone dealing of CHCL, amounting Rs 4,614,368 of 4510 units via 19 transactions which includes matching of 1,416 units worth Rs 1,431,608 via 3 transactions.
Sectoral wise it was just opposite of yesterday, today it was only finance sector that suffered the loss of 15% while other remaining were better off than previous day. Among the gainers Banking sector added the most point of 10.08 or 2.88% followed by Manufacturing, Insurance, Hydro and Development with 2.09 % ,1.19%,0.23% and 0.21% respectively. Whereas Others sector was intact at 627.39 level. Sensitive index added 1.74 or 1.72% points to rest at 102.64 level while Float index also rose by 0.508 or 1.69% points to close at 30.67 level.
Total scrips traded for the day was 84 with 45 gainers and 28 losers with total turnover of Rs 64,254,923 which is comparatively Rs 23,480,928 or 26.76% lower than prior trading session. Overall 168,530 units of shares were traded via 1147 transactions with the market capitalization of Rs 376,337.77 Millions.
