Nepse bounces back 14.14 points; Majority of trading groups end in green zone

Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) benchmark index bounced back 14.14 points today to close at 896.01 points. Investors are considering the surge in the benchmark index today after four continuous daily downfalls is considered a positive signal toward the recovery of the market.

Except Hydropower group which shed 36.18 points to close at 2,316.01 points, all other groups ended in the green zone today.

Insurance become the highest gainer with its sub-index shooting up 86.99 points to end at 3,589.19 points. Banking group followed the suit. Its sub-index ended 18.71 points higher to settle at 799.57 points.

Finance and Development Bank also gained 9.21 and 7.59 points, respectively, closing at 487.55 and 667.99 points. Hotels group also went up 5.78 points to finish at 1,820.34 points. There was no change in ‘Others’ group.

A total of 838,776 units of shares of 125 companies worth Rs 27.43 crore were traded in the bourse today through 2,761 transactions.
