NEPS to launch EMV VISA Chip Card

Nepal Electronic Payment Systems Limited (NEPS) has issued EMV Chip Card with an aim to provide easy and modern card services. Altogether 15 Bank and Financial Institutions (BFIs) are partnered to NEPS. The company has provisioned to issue cards to participant BFIs in coordination with VISA. Among the participant BFIs, the company has been providing VISA card services to 9 banks till date among which are Sunrise Bank, Machhapuchchhre Bank, Citizens Bank, NIC Asia, Siddhartha Bank, Bank of Kathmandu Lumbini, Prime Commercial and Kasthamandap Development Bank. The cards issued by the company have PCI PIN Security and is PCI DSS version 3.1 Certified. NEPS has completed all procedures to replace Magnetic Stripe Card with EMV Chip Card. The company is all set to issue VISA Card with EMV Chip. With the completion of the procedures, participants BFIs can issue EMV VISA Chip Card to its users.
