The four major political parties in Nepal have agreed on an eight-point memorandum as part of the initial phase of a newly formed power coalition. This collaboration follows the dissolution of the previous coalition led by the Nepali Congress, leading to the creation of a more streamlined council of ministers with three non-departmental ministers. The participating parties, including CPN-UML, Maoist Center, Rashtriya Swatantra Party, and Janata Samajwadi Party, express their commitment to addressing public aspirations for good governance, development, and social justice.

The agreement emphasizes the need for balanced international relations, prioritizing national interests, and strengthening the federal democratic republic in line with Nepal's Constitution. It also outlines the formation of a joint government, with Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) selected as the leader. Support is extended to the Maoist Center's candidate for National Assembly Speaker and the UML's candidate for Vice President.

Practical aspects of governance, such as ministerial distribution, positive dialogues with other parties, and the preparation of a common minimum program, are highlighted. The commitment towards political permanence for socialist-oriented economic and social development sets the tone for the collaborative efforts of the involved parties. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by UML President KP Sharma Oli, Maoist President Prachanda, Rashtriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane, and Janata Samajwadi Party President Upendra Yadav, paving the way for a new phase in Nepalese governance.

The agreement is as follows:
