Nepali Army Arrests 21 in Kathmandu and Bhaktapur Looting Spree

The Nepali Army (NA) has arrested 21 individuals involved in a series of lootings across Kathmandu and Bhaktapur districts last night, taking advantage of the prevailing adverse situation, the Army confirmed today.

According to the Public Relations and Information Directorate of the Nepali Army, the suspects were apprehended while attempting to loot properties in the Bouddha area and at Hotel Hyatt in Kathmandu, as well as at Bhatbhateni Supermarket in Radheradhe, Bhaktapur.

In addition, five more individuals were detained for their involvement in a heist at Rastriya Banijya Bank in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu. The Army has assured that all suspects are under custody and that further investigations are ongoing to bring those responsible to justice.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security forces during the current challenging circumstances.
