Nepal Toastmasters hands over “Communication Award” to former vice chair of NPC Dr. Swarnim Wagle

Nepal Toastmasters has recognized and awarded a media personality “Communication Award 2018” to Dr. Swarnim Wagle chosen by an eminent panel of jury members on the very day. This is the first of its kind award, which is awarded to a non-toastmaster member by the fraternity. Nepal Tournaments will hand over this annual award every year.

On this special occasion Toastmaster also launched official website of Nepal which is https://toastmastersnepal.org/ .

Dr. Rajdeep Manwani, a distinguished toastmaster from Bangalore, India delivered his keynote address and conducted a talk session in the conference. Dr. Manwani is an academician, trainer, motivational speaker, life coach, counselor and quizmaster par excellence both by training and by choice. He is a triple postgraduate and a Ph.D. having completed his M.com, M.B.A and MPhil and also a doctorate in commerce on the topic Strategic evaluation of training in commercial banks.

 

The program also featured the panel discussion on the topic of ‘women leadership across generations’ with panelist Ms. Chandani Joshi, Ms. Ritu Singh Vaidya and Ms. Sumana Shrestha. The discussion was focused on the many challenges being faced by women in workplace and the possible way-out to overcome them. The panel discussion was moderated by toastmaster Ravin Lama.

All Nepal finalists of Division A battled in the final round of Evaluation and Humorous Speech Contests. The winner of Evaluation Contest is Toastmaster Asira Khanal and Humorous Speech Contest is Toastmaster Rujal Lal Joshi. Both the winners will proceed to district level contests to be held in the month of May in Kolkata, India. These contests are organized as per the guidelines prescribed by Toastmasters International, which hosts World speech contest every year.

On a lighter note, Toastmaster members also showcased their talent on stage. First ventriloquist of Nepal, renowned stand up comic Toastmaster Seema Golchha showcased her special act on the day. Other talented toastmasters also showcased their special talents to the audience.

The division Director of Nepal, Distinguished Toastmaster Ranjit Acharya said, “We are proud to have organized the first ever all Nepal Toastmaster Conference today. Almost 50% members participated and benefitted today. Learn, lead and leverage was our theme and we are hopeful that we could deliver the same to our members”

 

Associate Club Growth Director Distinguished Toastmaster Suman Shakya highlighted, “We are really excited to see this over whelming response from our members. This event has set a new milestone and now will help us expand toastmasters in other cities too”

 

The conference was also graced by senior level district official Program Quality Director Distinguished Toastmaster Prashant Goyal from India as a special dignitary.
