Revenue collection from land and property transactions across Nepal surpassed Rs 6.26 billion during the Nepali month of Baisakh (mid-April to mid-May). The latest figures indicate a gradual improvement and steady recovery in the country's real estate sector following a period of market fluctuations.

According to the Department of Land Management and Archive in Babar Mahal, Kathmandu, the Baisakh revenue reflects a slight upward trend compared to the Rs 6.16 billion collected in the previous month of Chaitra (mid-March to mid-April).

A breakdown of the total Rs 6.26 billion collected shows that Rs 3.31 billion was generated from registration fees, making it the largest contributor. Capital gains tax brought in Rs 2.55 billion, while service taxes accounted for Rs 344 million. Additionally, Rs 44.8 million was amassed for the Chief Minister Hygiene Fund.

The recent growth marks a positive turnaround for the property market, which has faced notable volatility. Department statistics show that revenue collection stood at over Rs 4.14 billion in Fagun (mid-February to mid-March), following a stronger performance of more than Rs 5.99 billion in Magh (mid-January to mid-February). The consecutive rise over the last two months points toward a stabilizing and improving market environment.
