Nepal Rastra Bank has announced an increase in the dollar limit for students and workers traveling abroad for education and employment purposes. The revised integrated circular 2079 introduces enhanced facilities specifically for students heading to Australia, America, Canada, and European countries.
Under the new provisions, students destined for these countries can now carry up to 12 thousand dollars, compared to the previous limit of 10 thousand dollars. This adjustment aims to accommodate the financial needs of students pursuing higher education in these international destinations.
Similarly, the increased facilities also extend to Nepali workers going abroad for employment, particularly to Europe, America, Canada, Japan, and South Korea. Workers bound for these regions will now be permitted to exchange up to 500 dollars for their passports. Previously, the allowance was limited to a $200 loan for workers heading to these countries. For those going to other countries, the exchange limit remains at 200 US dollars, as outlined in the unified circular.
Furthermore, the new regulations extend these facilities based on electronic visas and tickets, with provisions for electronic means or printed documentation. This move is aimed at streamlining the process and providing more flexibility to individuals traveling abroad.
