Nepal Oil Corporation has significantly increased aviation fuel prices, nearly doubling rates for both domestic and international flights following a price adjustment announced on Tuesday.

According to a press statement issued by the corporation, the price of aviation fuel for domestic flights has been raised from Rs 127 per litre to Rs 251 per litre.

Similarly, prices for international flights have also seen a sharp rise. In Kathmandu, the rate has increased from USD 966 per kilolitre to USD 1,785 per kilolitre under the new adjustment.

In Pokhara, aviation fuel prices have been revised from USD 801 per kilolitre to USD 1,732 per kilolitre. Likewise, in Bhairahawa, the price has been increased from USD 789 per kilolitre to USD 1,716 per kilolitre.

The steep hike is expected to impact airline operating costs, potentially leading to higher airfares for passengers on both domestic and international routes.
