Nepal office of Mashreqbank PSC organizes One Day Seminar on Compliance and Treasury Management

Mashreqbank PSC, Nepal Representative Office organized One Day Seminar titled “Compliance and Treasury Management” in Hotel Annapurna, Kathmandu on 12 May 2019. The seminar was attended by 100 participants from 27 Commercial Banks, Nepal Infrastructure Bank and Nepal Rastra Bank.

The seminar was inaugurated by Mr. Maheshwor Lal Shrestha, Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank (Central Bank of Nepal). He was the Chief Guest in the Seminar. Miss Hema Kumari Adhikari, Chief Country Representative of Mashreqbank for Nepal, welcoming the Chief Guest, Guests, resource persons and the participants, highlighted the significance of the seminar and also informed that Mashreq Bank Nepal Office is organizing this kind of seminar periodically to keep Nepali banks updated in international practices in banking.

Delivering a key note speech in the Seminar, Mr. Maheshwor Lal Shrestha stressed the importance of Compliance in banks and financial institutions. He also said that Nepal’s Compliance Standards on anti-money laundering and terrorist financing is due for review in 2020 by the regional anti-money laundering watchdog, the Asia Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG) and the country is working hard to maintain the compliance standard set for. Mr. Shrestha thanked to the organizer for organizing this seminar in appropriate time.
