Nepal Investment Bank Limited Reports Slight Decline In Core Business Revenue In Q4; Company In Merger Process With HBL To Be The Biggest Bank Of The Country

Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIB) has published its fourth-quarter report for the FY 2077/2078 with an increase in Net Profit by a 50.69%. The bank's net profit has increased from Rs. 2.42 Arba in the fourth quarter of FY 2076/2077 to Rs. 3.65 Arba in the fourth quarter of FY 2077/2078.

The bank reported Rs. 1.99 Arba as distributable profit after P/L appropriation and regulatory requirements in this quarter.

The bank’s deposits from customers increased by 4.93% (compared to the immediate previous year ending) whereas loans and advances to customers increased by 16.15% to Rs. 1.56 kharba (compared to the immediate previous year ending) till the fourth quarter. The bank's Net Interest Income (core business income) has decreased by 3.20% to Rs. 5.59 Arba compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

The bank’s paid-up capital stands at Rs. 16.25 Arba with Rs. 16 Arba in Reserve and surplus. The Non-performing loan (NPL) remained at 2.46%.

The earnings per share (EPS) of the Bank stood at Rs. 22.46 and Net worth per share stood at Rs. 198.48. The company traded at a P/B multiple of 2.32 times.
