Nepal Insurance Authority Opens Applications for Position of Chairperson
The government has called for applications for the post of Chairperson of the Nepal Insurance Authority. A recommendation committee issued a public notice inviting eligible candidates to apply for the position.
According to the notice, applicants must possess high moral character and should not be disqualified under the Insurance Act, 2022. Candidates must be between 30 and 65 years of age, in line with the standards for appointments and nominations to public bodies under the Ministry of Finance.
Applicants are required to hold at least a master’s degree or equivalent in insurance, monetary studies, banking, commerce, engineering, management, public administration, statistics, mathematics, economics, or law, along with a minimum of five years of senior managerial experience in the related field.
Individuals convicted of corruption, money laundering, human trafficking, drug trafficking, offenses involving archaeological objects or protected wildlife, or other crimes involving moral turpitude will be disqualified. Likewise, those blacklisted under prevailing laws must have completed at least three years since removal from the blacklist. Persons holding permanent residency in a foreign country, currently engaged in public procurement contracts, or deemed mentally unfit will also be ineligible.
Interested and qualified candidates may submit their applications to the Committee Secretariat under the Financial Sector Management and Corporation Coordination Division at the Ministry of Finance by Jestha 19.
