KATHMANDU, July 22:
Employee unions of Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) and Employees´ Provident Fund have demanded reinstatement of Managing Director of Chilime Hydropower Company Kulman Ghising.
At a press conference held in the capital on Tuesday, the NEA´s National Employees´ Association, Nepal National Employees´ Association, Employees Welfare Council and Employees Union as well as EPF´s Nepal Financial Institution´s Employees Association and Nepal National Employees Association representatives argued that the transfer of Ghising would invite problems to the project and thus demanded his reinstatement.
They also argued that it was not the right time to transfer Managing Director Ghising when the company was at its peak in infrastructure development for production of 270 MW of power through the Upper Sanzen, Sanzen, Rasuwagadhi and mid-Bhotekoshi projects.
The union leaders called for an end to political intervention in order to protect local human resource as well as capital, and warned of taking to the streets if the decision to transfer Ghising was not withdrawn.
The Employees´ Provident Fund has made an investment worth Rs. 16 billion in the projects run by the Company, it was stated at the program.
