With respect to threats, disorderly conduct, and violent attacks against bank, financial, and microfinance institutions as well as the disorderly behavior used to intimidate the staff, Nepal Bankers Association in coordination with Development Bankers Association, Nepal Microfinance Association, and Nepal Finance Association has released a statement regarding their view in the ongoing matter

Banks, financial institutions, and microfinance organizations are well known for constantly offering services across the nation while placing a high value on customer satisfaction. The detentions, violent crimes, and office lockdowns in Jajarkot, Makwanpur, Myagdi, Sunsari, Udaipur, Kapilvastu, Rupandehi, Kaski, and other areas have caused our employees in the severe unpleasant situation who risked their lives and rendered services in the front lines despite dire circumstances like the great earthquake and the covid epidemic that different times occurred in the nation.

We vehemently condemn the incident and insist that those responsible for it be held accountable right away. Additionally, we demand that the leaders who incite such instances by displaying erratic and agitated facial expressions be held accountable as well. For the sake of the staff's safety, it's possible that the banking service itself won't resume if this kind of unpleasant event is not stopped.

We ask the appropriate state agencies to take prompt action to control the chaotic incident under the guise of such irresponsible activities given that the entire banking sector has become anxious and panicked as a result of the assault on such an important and sensitive sector as banking.

We ask everyone to be conscious of this kind of behavior because it is not in their best interests, it creates an uncomfortable environment, it interferes with social tolerance, it has a negative effect on economic activity, and ultimately it harms the economy.

Maintaining the rights and interests of all customers as the top priority, safeguarding depositors' savings, making loans to borrowers, and helping to build the nation's capital all while transparently adhering to the regulations set forth by the regulatory bodies. Moving forward, ensuring a fearless workplace for those employed in this delicate financial sector. We ask the appropriate officials to guarantee the security of the workers and prosecute the offenders.
