NB Bank profit remains almost stagnant, NPL goes up slightly

Profit of Nepal Bangladesh (NB) Bank Ltd has remained almost stagnant in the last fiscal year 2070/71 as compared to the previous fiscal year 2069/70.
The bank posted a meager profit rise of 0.45 percent in the fourth quarter of the last fiscal year 2070/71.
According to the fourth quarterly unaudited financial statement published by the bank today, the net profit of the inched up to Rs 76.21 crore, up by only Rs 35 lakh as compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
The bank has also provisioned Rs 31.57 crore in last fiscal year for the possible loss. Such provisioning amount in the previous fiscal year was Rs 32.61 crore.
Non-performing loan (NPL) slightly increased to 1.35 percent last year from 1.33 percent. The bank has also been able to write back 31.65 crore in last fiscal year, slightly down from Rs 32.61 crore in the previous year.
It has mobilized Rs 25.8 arab in deposits and Rs 19.05 arab in loans and advances last year, compared to the mobilization of Rs 17.85 on deposit and Rs 13.14 on loans on previous year.
The net interest spread (difference in borrowing and lending rate) of the bank was 4.12 percent.
Its EPS (annualized) now stands at Rs 35, P/E ratio at 20 and net worth per share stands at Rs 194.
