National Banking Institute convenes conference on Digitization; 150 banking professionals throughout the nation came together to discuss technological leap in banking sector

National Banking Institute Ltd. (NBI) has organized Digitization Conference on Chaitra 3, 2074 in Kathmandu. The Conference was jointly  inaugurated by Chairman of NBI Mr. Laxmi Prapanna Niroula,  Digital Channel Expert & Former ICICI Bank Mr. Rahul Joshi, and Mr. Rajesh Lahori, Head-Cash Management Product of RBL Bank & Former HDFC . digitalization Chairman Niroula pointed out the significance of Digitization in banking and its impact to Access to Finance in his inaugural speech. He also shared that Nepal Rastra Bank has been looking forward to make Digitization in Banking in way that is more constructive. CEO of NBI, Mr Sanjib Subba shared his views that Digitization is new vocabulary in banking it says all about the future of banking in days to come . He stressed, it is high time that Banking & Financial Institutions invested in digitization as it is an inevitable choice for banks and financial institution for their very existence. He stressed on the fact the first mover in digitization will benefit in long run . The acclaimed experts of digitization in the region made their presentation in the Conference. Mr. Rahul Joshi Former ICICI Bank, Digital Channel Expert was among the key speakers who highlighted facts on various aspect of digitization in India and lesson that Nepal should learned to establish digitization. Mr. Rajesh Lahori, Former HDFC and currently with RBL Bank, Head-Cash Management Product also shared his views regarding challenges and opportunities with Digital Financial services. Mr. Deepak Sharma, Chief Digital officer of Kotak Mahindra Bank shared his experience of digitization in his bank, views regarding the Digital Platform for digitization in banking and how Nepal can adopt such platforms. Further, the presentation was followed by a panel discussion, where Mr. Revati Prasad Nepal, Director, Payment System Department  form Nepal Rastra Bank , Mr. Sujit Shrestha, Chief Information Officer, Standard Chartered Bank and the eminent speakers from Indian  discussed and opined on various aspects of Digitization and digital payment services. Over 150 banking professionals from throughout Nepal attended the Conference.
