Morang Industry Association to Ignite Economic Growth with 10-Day Trade Expo in Biratnagar

The Morang Industry Association is gearing up to host a 10-day-long Trade Expo in Biratnagar, aiming to invigorate economic activities in the region and beyond. The announcement was made during a news conference held in Biratnagar on Monday, where the Association highlighted the significant impact the Expo is expected to have on the country's economic landscape. Scheduled to commence on December 22, 2023, and conclude on January 1, 2024, the Trade Expo is anticipated to play a pivotal role in promoting a diverse range of agricultural, touristic, and industrial products.

Nabin Rijal, Chairman of the Morang Industry Association, expressed optimism about the Expo's potential to serve as a platform for showcasing goods and products from neighboring countries such as India, Bangladesh, and Pakistan. A total of 250 stalls will be set up, providing a comprehensive display of offerings.

Notably, the Expo aims to support local businesses by offering free stalls for agricultural goods and productions from Sudurpaschim Province and remote areas, emphasizing inclusivity and the promotion of small and cottage industries.

Rijal emphasized that the Trade Expo is poised to not only expand the national and international markets for inter-provincial goods and services but also foster valuable business relations among both national and international investors. The event is set to include promotional activities highlighting touristic destinations, contributing to the overall promotion of Nepal as an attractive tourist hub.

Since its initiation in 2053 BS, the Morang Industry Association has been steadfast in organizing Trade Expos, contributing to the region's economic growth and providing a platform for businesses to showcase their products and services. The upcoming Trade Expo is expected to record business transactions amounting to Rs 150 million, drawing an estimated 400,000 visitors from Nepal and India.

As the anticipation builds, the Trade Expo in Biratnagar is poised to be a hub of economic activity, fostering collaboration, and showcasing the rich tapestry of products and innovations from both local and international participants.
