In a significant step towards fostering innovation and nurturing young minds, MetLife Nepal has partnered with Karkhana Samuha to support Shree Siddhi Mangal Secondary School, Lalitpur, in establishing a Making Space. This initiative aims to establish the Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) Club and empower students by providing them with an environment conducive to exploring, learning, and implementing various design thinking ideas within the Making Space.

Making Spaces have become a hallmark of modern education, promoting hands-on learning, creativity, and problem-solving skills. These collaborative spaces are equipped with an array of tools, materials, and technologies that enable students to bring their ideas to life, inspiring a culture of innovation. Through the setup of a Making Space at Shree Siddhi Mangal Secondary School, MetLife strives to provide opportunities for both teachers and children to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application with availability of necessary equipment. The lab will serve as a dynamic hub for students to collaborate, experiment, and develop solutions to real-world challenges.

MetLife Nepal recognizes the importance of contributing to the holistic development of society and views education as a key avenue for achieving this goal. Under this initiative, MetLife has provided a support of NRS 470,000 to Karkhana Samuha for developing the Making space in the school. By partnering with Karkhana Samuha, a renowned organization that specializes in designing and implementing experiential learning programs for both teachers and students, MetLife intends to create a generation of young innovators who are not only well-versed in technical skills but also adept at approaching complex problems with a creative mindset.

Mr. Nirmal Kajee Shrestha, Vice President and General Manager of MetLife Nepal, said:” Through this initiative, we are sowing the seeds of innovation, cultivating a culture of curiosity and exploration that will undoubtedly have a ripple effect on Nepal's educational landscape. By equipping students with the skills and confidence to bring their ideas to life, we are developing a brighter future for the nation.”
