Merry day for the stock market; Market rises by double digits to close at 1,206.26 points

Market has upsurged by 15.98 points on the second trading day of the week. The index which had started at 1,190.28 crossed the 1,200 points mark and ended at 1,206.26 points. At its highest point, market had reached 1,213.61 points.

The total turnover for the day was Rs 53.26 crore which was the result of trade of more than 18 lakh unit shares. The shares of 169 listed companies were exchanged through 5,811 transactions.

Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than Rs 10.83 crore worth of shares were traded. It was also ahead in terms of units traded as 1,27,193 units were traded during the day.

Two stocks touched the positive circuit today. Laxmi Bank Limited (LBL) was the top gainer of the day recording an increase of 23 points which was followed by Kabeli Bikas Bank Limited (KEBL) with an increment of 19 points. However, Ngadi Group Power Limited (NGPL) was the top loser for the day losing 14 points. Its LTP stood at Rs 162.

Both the sensitive and float index increased by 3.07 and 1.23 points respectively.

Out of the sub-indices, only Hotels and Others ended in the red zone. Non-life Insurance gained 96.66 points which was followed by Life Insurance gaining 72.48 points.
