Massive rise of stock market by 54.65 points to close at 1608.33 points; Huge turnover above Rs1.36 arba

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) went up by 54.65 points or 3.52% to close at 1608.33 points. Today Nepse Index opened at 1554.35 points and after that it was seen in upward trend. 90,494 unit shares of Bank of Kathmandu Lumbini Limited (BOKL) and 80,078 unit shares of Mega Bank Limited (MEGA) were traded most today. Top gainers list was dominated by microfinance and insurance companies. 17 companies hit circuit break today. Everest Bank Limited and Bank of Kathmandu Lumbini Limited have the highest turnover of Rs 20.03 crore and Rs 5.97 crore respectively. The number of transactions of EBL and BOKL reached 436 and 511. The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 1.36 arba where more than 15.25 lakh units’ shares were traded through 8,689 transactions. Sensitive and float index went up by 12.34 and 4.26 points respectively. Except Hotels, all sectors at Nepse landed in green. Sub-indices of insurance and banking sector surged by 326.09 points and 58.74 points respectively.
