Market still painted in red; tanks 12.51 points closing at 1,353.64 points

NEPSE index has yet again declined by 12.51 points or 0.60% today adding to the massive falls for past few days. The market today had opened at 1,366.16 points, which experienced minor fluctuations throughout the day and ultimately landed in red zone. Despite the fluctuations, the curve was seen downward sloping. Total turnover worth Rs 36.10 crore was witnessed during the trading hours as more than 8.43 lakh unit shares were traded in the whole day through 6,682 transactions.

Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than 2.04 crore worth of shares were traded. Similarly, NBL was also the top in case of number of shares traded as 56,930 unit shares were exchanged.

Likewise, the top gainer for the day is Everest Bank Limited Con. Pref. (EBLCP) whose price increased by 7.76% closing at Rs. 639. And, Shangrila Development Bank Ltd. (SADBL) was the top loser of the day losing 6.25% on its price.

The sub-indices for all the sectors except Finance declined and closed in red today. The top losing sector was Insurance, tumbling by 68.32 points. The only sector in green, Finance, gained only 0.06 points. All in all, it was a bad day in he market.
