Market slumps by double digit on first trading day of the week; Top gainer only gains 3.85%

The market that was falling since morning stood to lose 10.47 points or 0.83% and closed at 1256.71 points. The turnover today was of Rs.58.85 Crore which was achieved from trade of 2,106,949 units of shares through 5,828 transactions trading scrips of 167 companies.

The highest turnover was achieved by Global IME Bank (GBIME) at Rs.6.49 Crore, followed by Soaltee Hotel Limited (SHL) at Rs.5.03 Crore. GBIME also stood ahead in terms of share traded after trade of 202,822 units of shares, followed by SHL whose 201,412 units of shares were traded.

The top gainer today was Salt Trading Corporation (STC) after it gained 14 points or 3.85% with its LTP at Rs.378 per share. Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank (MLBL) was today’s top loser after it lost 6.25% or 12 points with its LTP at Rs.180 per share.

Sensitive Index lost 2.14 points and closed at 267.09 points while Float Index lost 0.71 points and closed at 91.67 points.

Only Trading sector was amongst gaining sub-index while all the other sub-indices ended in the red zone. Hotels lost 1.83% making them the top losing sub-index. However, the turnover was dominated by Banking sector after it posted a turnover of Rs.35.16 Crore making up more than 60% of today’s turnover.
