Market Retrenches Gaining 10.43 Points after Yesterday’s 16.69 Points Fall

The market today was in the green zone for most of the day. After a huge fall on the first trading day of the week, NEPSE saw some recovery today. The market saw a decent increase of 10.43 points and closed at 1174.37 points today; increasing 0.90%.

However, the turnover of the market stood at Rs.16.96 Crore which is less than that of yesterday. A total of 533,492 shares were traded today from 3,001 transactions.

Similar to yesterday, Nepal Life Insurance Company (NLIC) had the highest turnover of Rs.1.20 Crore from 191 transactions which was also the highest. Mega Bank (MEGA) stood ahead in terms of number of shares traded with trade of 28,925 units of shares.

In continuation of yesterday’s trend, Aarambha Microfinance Bittiya Sansthan (AMFI) stood at the top gainer after gaining 68 points. Other gainers were Green Development Bank (GRDBL) and Best Finance Company (BFC) gaining 6.15% and 6.00% respectively.

Support Microfinance Bittiya Sansthan Ltd. (SMB) was the top loser today after losing a massive 102 points. Multipurpose Finance Company Limited (MPFL) and Nepal Community Development Bank Ltd. (NCDB) were among other top losers.

Both the Sensitive and Float index were in the green today. Sensitive index rose by 2.24 points to close at 247.94 points while Float index gained 0.78 points to close at 84.30 points.

Life and Non-Life sub-indices; to which yesterday’s fall had been attributed, stood gaining the highest today. Life Insurance sub-index gained 110.85 points while Non-Life sub-index gained 75.55 points. All the other sub-indices were green today except for Hotels sub-index.
