Market registers minimal fall; turbulent market closes at 1,224.39 points

The index at Nepal Stock Exchange has shown a high fluctuation throughout the trading period for the first trading day of the week. The market ended losing 0.02 points and closed at 1,224.39 points. At its highest point, the index was had reached 1,240.83 point.

The total turnover for the day was Rs 48.23 crore which was generated from the exchange of 12,41,631 unit shares. During the day, the shares of 168 listed companies were traded through 6,595 transactions.

Chhimek Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited (CBBL) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than Rs 4.97 crore worth of shares were traded during the day. Likewise, Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank Limited (NCCB) was ahead In terms of units of shares traded, as 62,827 units of shares were exchanged during the day.

The shareholders of Aarambha Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Limited (AMFI) earned the most during the trading period as the price of the share increased by 49 points and its last traded price (LTP) stood at Rs 544. Similarly, the shares of United Modi Hydropower Limited (UMHL) decreased by 12 points and the LTP stood at Rs 168.

The sensitive index increased by 0.27 points and the float index decreased by 0.12 points.

Out of the sub-indices, Banking, Hotels, Manufacturing & Production and Others ended in the green zone. Hotels registered increment of 41.99 points whereas Insurance lost 23.89 points.
