Market registers gain to start the day’s trade; HIDCL becomes the most traded share of the day

The stock market registered a rise of 3.62 points for the first trading day of the week. The NEPSE index that had started at 1,191.2 points ended at 1,194.82 points gaining 0.30%.
The total turnover for the day was Rs 18.49 crore which was the outcome of exchange of more than 7.81 lakh unit shares. The shares of 153 listed companies were exchanged through 2,985 transactions.
Jalabidyut Lagani tatha Bikas Company Limited (HIDCL) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than Rs 1.26 crore worth of shares was exchanged. It was also ahead in terms of shares traded as 72,076 lakh unit shares were traded during the day.
The shareholders of National Hydro Power Company Limited (NHPC) earned the most today as the price of the share increased by 6 points and the LTP stood at Rs 86. Similarly, the shareholders of City Express Finance Limited (CEFL) lost 18 points to record their LTP at Rs 168.
Both the sensitive and float index ended gaining 0.59 points and 0.22 points respectively.
Out of the sub-indices, Banking, Development Bank, Non Life Insurance and Life Insurance sector landed in the green zone. Life Insurance sector increased by 52.67 points whereas Hotels sector lost 20.14 points.
