Market opens for the week with loss of points and improvement in turnover; more than 1.5 Million units of shares traded today

On the opening day of the week, the market was in the red zone for the whole day and stood to lose 0.74% or 8.57 points. The benchmark index closed at 1153.06 points today. The turnover amount saw considerable improvement as it stood at Rs.41.57 Crore which was achieved from trade of 1,527,706 units of shares traded through 5,785 transactions trading scrips of 169 listed companies in the process.

Machhapuchchhre Bank Promoter Shares (MBLPO) stood ahead in terms of shares traded and turnover after 522,055 units of shares were traded posting a turnover of Rs.5.93 Crore.

After publishing a good record for the end of second quarter, Vijaya Laghubitta (VLBS) was today’s top gainer after it gained 3.83% or 26 points to close at Rs.705 per share. Sanima Equity Fund (SAEF) was today’s top loser after it lost 3.79% to close at Rs.8.87 per unit.

Sensitive Index lost 1.72 points and closed at 245.08 points while Float Index lost 0.54 points and closed at 83.78 points.

Trading sector was the only sub-index to close in the green zone today after it gained 1.13% or 2.87 points. Rest of the cub-indices lost points and ended in the red zone with Others losing the most at 1.65%.
