Market opens for the week with double digit loss; Chilime Hydropower top loser after reporting fall in quarterly profit

The market opened for the week with the loss of double digit points. The benchmark index lost 16.71 points or 1.29% and closed at 1277.68 points. Today’s turnover stood at Rs.65.03 Crore which was achieved through trade of 2,312,530 units of shares traded through 8,313 transactions trading scrips of 175 listed companies in the process.

Nepal bank Limited (NBL) stood ahead in terms of shares traded and turnover after posting a turnover of Rs.6.28 Crore achieved through trade of 202,122 units of shares. The LTP of the bank stands at Rs.310 per share.

Multipurpose Finance Company (MPFL) hit the positive circuit today as it gained 10% or 15 points and closed at Rs.165 per share. Chilime Hydropower Company (CHCL) was today’s top loser after it lost 7.62% or 44 points and closed at Rs.533 per share.

Sensitive Index lost 3.86 points and closed at 273.96 points while Float Index lost 1.44 points and closed at 94 points.

Manufacturing and Others were the only sub-indices that gained today, gaining 0.96% and 0.16% respectively. Rest of the sub—indices ended in the red zone after losing points.
