Market loses more than 8 points to close at 1179 points; Upper Tamakoshi closes for the day with turnover of Rs.23 Crore from more than 12,000 transactions

On the opening day of the week, the market lost 0.72% or 8.60 points and closed at 1179.17 points. The turnover today was of Rs.36.45 Crore which was achieved from trade of 1,153,073 units of shares traded through 14,400 transactions trading scrips of 143 companies in the process.
Upper Tamakoshi (UPPER) posted the highest turnover and most number of shares traded today. The scrip posted a massive turnover of Rs.23.43 Crore which was achieved through trade of 729,238 units of shares traded through a record high of 12,489 transactions. The scrip also topped the gainers and losers list today, featuring on both the lists for a brief period.
National Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha (NMFBS) gained the most today after its share price increased by 6.09% or 99 points and closed at Rs.1725 per share. Citizen Investment Trust (CIT) was today’s top loser after its share prices fell by 6.33% or 174 points to close at Rs.2571 per share.
Sensitive Index lost 1.63 points and closed at 249.38 points while Float Index closed 0.66 points and closed at 85.57 points.
Trading, Hotels and Finance were the only sub-indices that gained points today. The three sub-indices gained 1.15%, 0.32% and 0.26% respectively. Rest of the sub-indices ended in the red zone after losing points. Hydropower sector lost the most at 2.75%.
