Market loses massive 68.47 points with microfinance sector losing the most; only nine scrips among gainers

The market today was in the red zone for the whole day as the news of FM Khatiwada’s reappointment was made public. The benchmark index lost massive 4.54% or 68.47 points and closed at 1441.20 points. The turnover amount stood at Rs.2.90 Arba achieved through trade of 6,771,141 units of shares traded through 29,231 transactions trading scrips of 174 listed companies in the process.

Nepal Life Insurance Company Limited (NLIC) posted the highest turnover of Rs.26.66 Crore with LTP standing at Rs.1250 per share. NMB Bank Limited (NMB) stood ahead in terms of volume with trade of 297,065 units of shares. The LTP of the commercial bank stock stood at Rs.460 per share.

Only 9 scrips posted a gain today with Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SLBSL) gaining the most at 5.17% or 43 points, closing at Rs.875 per share. The top losers list was dominated by microfinance companies. NMB Microfinance (NMBMF), Nepal Sewa Laghubitta (NSEWA), Swadeshi Laghubitta (SDEAI) and Kalika Development Bank (KMCDB) lost the most at 10% each while many hit the negative circuit.

Sensitive Index lost 5.17 points and closed at 308.87 points while Float Index lost 4.83 points and closed at 102.31 points.

All sub-indices ended in the red zone after losing points today. Microfinance, Non-Life Insurance and Life Insurance sectors were among top losers.
