Market loses double digits to close at 1168 points; UPPER hits the negative circuit with turnover of almost Rs.11 Crore

The market today was in the red zone for most of the day and stood to lose 0.92% or 10.86 points. The benchmark index closed at 1168.06 points. Today’s turnover was at Rs.36.77 Crore which was achieved from trade of 1,265,786 units of shares traded through 11,975 transactions trading scrips of 166 listed companies in the process.

Upper Tamakoshi (UPPER) dominated the turnover and shares traded list as 403,800 units of shares were traded posting a turnover of Rs.10.91 Crore. The LTP of the company has fallen to Rs.263 per share.

Today’s top gainer was Gurkhas Finance Limited (GUFL) after it gained 4.81% or 5 points to close at Rs.109 per share. Upper Tamakoshi (UPPER) was today’s top loser after it hit the negative circuit. The hydropower company lost 9.93% or 29 points to close at Rs.263 per share.

Sensitive Index lost 1.87 points and closed at 247.61 points while Float Index lost 0.76 points and closed at 84.72 points.

Finance sector was the only sub-index in the green zone today after it gained 0.11%. Rest of the sub-indices ended in the red zone after losing points. Hydropower sector lost the most today at 3.29% or 42.17 points.
