Market loses double digits on the opening day of the week; Hydropower and Insurance sectors lose more than 2%

On the opening day of the week, the market was displaced by double digits. The benchmark index fell by 1.06% or 12.05 points and closed at 1127.53 points. The turnover today was of Rs.23.51 Crore which was achieved from trade of 782,477 units of shares traded through 5,592 transactions trading scrips of 160 listed companies in the process.

Machhapuchchhre Bank Limited (MBL) dominated the traded today with turnover of Rs.1.40 Crore achieved through trade of 67,705 units of shares and topped on both the lists. The LTP of the commercial bank stands at Rs.209 per share.

Vijaya Laghubitta (VLBS) gained the most today at 1.76% or 12 points and closed at Rs.695 per share. Shree Investment Finance (SIFC) was today’s top loser after losing 5.88% or 8 points to close at Rs.128 per share.

Sensitive Index lost 2.40 points and closed at 240.21 points while Float Index lost 0.90 points and closed at 81.96 points.

Hotels was the only gaining sub-index today as it gained 0.69% to go against the market trend. Rest of the sub-indices ended in the red zone after losing points. Hydropower, Non-Life Insurance and Life Insurance stood to lose over 2% today.
