Market loses 5.54 points following problems in NEPSE’s website; Minimal turnover of Rs 17.53 crore recorded during the day

NEPSE index has decreased by 5.54 points as the market closed at 1,198.77 points. The market which had started at 1,204.31 points showed turbulence throughout the day. The day’s trade was also affected by the problem faced by NEPSE’s website. NEPSE has clarified that the reason for the crashing of the site was due to the problem in the fiber connection.
The total turnover for the day was only of Rs 17.53 crore which was achieved through the exchange of 4,77,687 unit shares. The shares of 139 listed companies were exchanged during the trading period through 2,305 transactions.
Nabil Bank Limited (NABIL) stood ahead in terms of total turnover as the shares worth more than Rs 2.56 crore were exchanged during the trading period. The promoter shares of Prabhu Bank Limited (PRVUPO) was ahead in terms of units of shares traded as 39,607 units were traded during the day.
The shareholders of National Hydro Power Company Limited (NHPC) earned the most today as the price increased by 4 points and its LTP stood at Rs 89. However, the shareholders of Naya Nepal Laghubitta Bikas Bank Limited (NNLB) lost the most during the day’s trade as the price decreased by 140 points and the LTP stood at Rs 1,960.
Both the sensitive index and float index decreased by 1.24 points and 0.43 points respectively.
Out of the 11 sub-indices, only Finance ended in the green zone gaining the 0.76 points. Life Insurance sector lost 67.65 points which was followed by Non Life Insurance losing 61.61 points.
