Market insight for the day: One of the most controversial scrips in the past few months; BPCL makes it to the highest turnover

NEPSE index has yet declined by 8.27 points or 0.61% today adding to the fall for past few days. The market today opened at 1,353.67 points, which experienced a fall down throughout the day. Total turnover worth Rs 43.42 crore was witnessed during the trading hours as more than 11.02 lakh unit shares were traded in the whole day through 6,387 transactions.

 

Butwal Power Company Limited (BPC) which was in controversy few months ago because of its FPO stood ahead in terms of turnover worth Rs 6.55 crore, today. Similarly, BPCL was also the top in case of number of shares traded as 129,999 unit shares were exchanged with 1,109 transactions.

 

Likewise, the top gainer for the day is Unnati Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha (UMB) whose price increased by 8.03% closing at Rs. 848. UMB is further followed by SMATA Microfinance Bittiya Sanstha Limited (SMATA) in the list of top gainers. And, Karnali Development Bank Ltd. (KRBL) was the top loser of the day losing 4.8% on its price. KRBL is further followed by Oriental Hotels Limited (OHL) in the list of top losers. 

 

The sub-indices for all the sectors except Others sector closed in red today. Alike the previous day, the top losing sector was Insurance, tumbling by 81.71 points. Insurance sector was further followed by Hotels sector which lost 39.96 points. The only sector in green, Others, gained only 0.34 points. The sensitive index declined by 1.33 points whereas the float index declined by 0.44 points.
