Market gains double digits to close at 6 month high, ending for the week on a positive note; Kumari Bank shares traded the most today

The market today closed at a high of 1232.26 points. The benchmark index posted double digit gain of 15.22 points or 1.25%, closing for the week at a 6 month high. Today’s turnover was worth Rs.75.12 Crore which was achieved from trade of 2,464,149 units of shares traded through 9,040 transactions trading scrips of 165 listed companies in the process.

Kumari Bank Limited (KBL) dominated the trade today after posting the highest turnover and most number of shares traded. The commercial bank posted a turnover of Rs.8.58 Crore which was achieved through trade of 325,975 units of shares. The LTP of the bank stands at Rs.269 per share.

Nepal SBI Bank (SBI) was today’s top gainer as it gained 6.65% or 29 points and closed at Rs.465 per share. Mountain Hydro Nepal Limited (MHNL) was today’s top loser after it lost 5.94% or 6 points and closed at Rs.95 per share.

Sensitive Index gained 3.99 points and closed at 265.56 points while Float Index gained 1.24 points and closed at 90.98 points.

Hydropower, Finance, Non-Life Insurance and Life Insurance sectors were among the losing sub-indices today as they lost 0.54%, 0.63%, 0.24% and 0.41% respectively. Rest of the sub-indices gained points to close in the green zone. Top gainer among sub-indices was Commercial Banks after it gained 2.31% or 25.35 points.
