Market enduring bearish trend; Index lost 4.21% or 64.55 points; Top losers dominated by insurance companies

On the first trading day of the week, the benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) dropped by 64.55 points or 4.21% to close at 1469.48 points.
Today NEPSE index opened at 1534.01 points, the local bourse declined by 3 percent negative circuit break in the first trading hour. Market was resumed at 12:01 PM and was seen fluctuating afterward.
159,305 units shares of Mission Development Bank Promoter shares (MIDBLP) and 84,584 unit shares of Civil Bank Limited (CBL) were traded most today.
Green Development Bank Limited (GRDBL) hit circuit break today. Top losers list was dominated by insurance companies.
The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 95.60 crore where more than 14.59 lakh units’ shares were traded through 6,320 transactions.
Sensitive and float index went down by 14.32 and 4.82 points respectively.
All trading groups landed in red. Sub-indices of insurance and hotel group dipped by 562.94 and 146.04 points respectively.
