Market Correction continues; NEPSE sees loss of points and turnover

Market slumped by 8.22 points today. The market opened in the green zone today by it was short lived and it started falling after a small period of increase. The market closed at 1188.07 points making a fall of 0.69%. The total turnover of Rs.22.61 Crore was achieved from trade of 603,102 units of share through 3,628 transactions trading scrips of 160 companies. The turnover today was less compared to that of other days indicating that there is still lack of confidence in the market after selling pressure intensifies.

The highest turnover of Rs.1.89 Crore was achieved by Nepal Investment Bank Promoter Shares (NIBPO). Shares of Nepal Investment Bank (NIB) had the second highest turnover of Rs.91.10 Lakhs. More than 33 thousand Century Commercial Bank Promoter Shares (CCBLPO) were traded today making it today’s top stock by shares traded. Nepal Investment Bank Promoter Shares (NIBPO) stood second in this category with trade of 33,233 units of shares.

World Merchant Banking and Finance (WMBF) and Janaki Finance Limited (JFL) were the top gainers after gaining 5.26% and 3.72% respectively.  While the top losers for today were Sindhu Bikas Bank (SINDU) and Rastriya Beema Company Promoter Shares (RBCLPO) after losing 9.37% and 7.51% respectively.

Both Sensitive and Float index lost today. Sensitive index lost 1.78 points and closed at 250.75 points while Float index lost 0.59 points and closed at 85.42 points.

Except for Manufacturing and Production sub-index, all the sub-indices were red indicating loss.  Non-life Insurance sub-index was the highest loser which ended up in loss of 59.74 points.
