Market continues to move sideways; index dive by 8.21 points with meager turnover of 40.4 crore

NEPSE index has declined by 8.21 points or 0.60% today adding to the massive falls for past few days. The market today had opened at 1,357.13 points, which experienced minor fluctuations throughout the day and ultimately landed in red zone. Total turnover worth Rs 40.35 crore was witnessed during the trading hours as more than 9.67 lakh unit shares were traded in the whole day through 5,214 transactions.
Rastriya Beema Company Limited (RBCL) stood ahead in terms of turnover as more than 1.5 crore worth of shares were traded. Similarly, Civil Bank Ltd. (CBL) was the top in case of number of shares traded as 51,078 unit shares were exchanged.
Likewise, the top gainer for the day is Swadeshi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha (SDESI) whose price increased by 9.94% closing at Rs. 1,615. And, Barun Hydropower co. (BARUN) was the top loser of the day losing 7.78% on its price.
The sub-indices for Banking, Hydropower, Finance, Others and Microfinance sectors declined and landed in red zone today, whereas the sub-indices for Trading, Hotels, Development Bank, Insurance and Manufacturing and processing sectors increased and landed in green. The hotels sector gained the most climbing by 35.18 points. Similarly, Banking sector lost the most today tumbling by 11.6 points.
