Market capitalization loses Rs 14.22 arba as index falls 14 points; improvement in turnover shows buyers’ confidence

The benchmark index at Nepal Stock Exchange Limited (NEPSE) has fallen by 14 points or 0.86% today to close at 1615.58 points. Due to this fall, the market capitalization has lost Rs 14.22 arba today. Total market capitalization now stands at Rs 18.83 kharba, down from Rs 18.98 kharba last Wednesday.
On the first trading day of the week today, NEPSE Index opened at 1629.66 points and was seen in a decreasing trend. However, on the final few minutes of the trading hours, the market gained more than 4 points – signaling increasing confidence in buyers. 204,840 units shares of Kuber Merchant Finance Limited (KMBSL) and 164,524 units shares of Siddhartha Bank Limited (SBL) were traded the most today.
Even in this falling market, RSDC Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (RSDC) rose by 8%. Nepal Doorsanchar Company Limited (NTC) and Synergy Finance Limited (SYFL) were also among the top gainers today.
The total turnover of the day stood above Rs 75.60 in which more than 14.76 lakh units shares were traded through 7,788 transactions.
Sensitive and float index went down by 2.71 and 1.36 points respectively.
Except Hotels and Others sector, all sectors in NEPSE landed in red today. Insurance sector lost the 134.30 points today.
