Market achieves turnover of 1 Arba after five months and gains 22.37 points; Banks dominate trade as always

The market today was gaining since it opened at reached a high of 1283 points. However, it closed at 1280.05 points to gain 22.37 points or 1.78%. The market achieved a glorious turnover of Rs.1.07 Arba through trade of 4,215,651 units of shares from 9,668 transactions trading scrips of 173 companies. The last time market achieved a turnover of more than Rs.1 Arba was on 23rd April, 2018.

Commercial Banks dominated the top turnover and shares traded list. With a turnover of Rs.8.51 Crore, Prabhu Bank Limited (PRVU) had the highest turnover. The LTP of the bank stands at Rs.246 per share. Capital Merchant Bank and Finance (CMB) shares were the most traded today, after trade of 601,417 units of shares followed by Prabhu Bank (PRVU) with trade of 349,104 units of shares.

Shareholders of Bhargava Bikash Bank (BHBL) gained 16 points or 9.82% making them the top gainers of today, followed by Sunrise Bank Limited (SRBL) which gained 20 points or 8.16%. Today’s top loser was Gurkhas Finance Limited (GUFL) after it lost 4.54% or 5 points with its LTP standing at Rs.105 per share.

Sensitive Index gained 5.31 points and closed at 272.22 points while Float Index gained 2.05 points and closed at 93.47 points.

The only losing sub-index was Others sector which lost 0.26% while all the other sub-indices gained. The top gaining sector was Banking sub-index as it gained 2.67% or 29.52 points. The Banking sector posted a turnover of Rs.77.80 Crore making up more than 72% of the today’s total turnover.
