Madhesi leaders busy meeting Indian leaders in New Delhi

Kathmandu, Dec 7: Leaders of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF), who are currently on a visit to India at the invitation of the Indian government, are busy in meetings with various political leaders there.
In this connection, the Madhesi leaders today met with different former Indian ambassadors to Nepal this morning. The meeting took place at the India International Centre. Former Indian ambassadors to Nepal Jayanta Prasad, Dev Mukherjee, Shiv Shanker Mukherjee, Shyam Saran, among others were present in the meeting. General Secretary of the Tarai Madhes Loktantrik Party, one of the constituents of the Front, Sarbendra Nath Shukla said the Front leaders are scheduled to hold meeting with the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and security advisor Ajit Doval on Tuesday.
The Madhesi leaders remained busy today interaction with the media in New Delhi.
They met with Indian Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj at the Hyderabad House on Sunday. They also met leader of the Nationalist Congress Karan Singh, DP Tripathi, chairman of the Janata Dal Sharad Yadav and general secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) Sitaram Yechury, among other Indian leaders also on Sunday. The Front leaders who went to India on Sunday will return home on Wednesday. It is said the purpose of the Madhesi leaders’ visit to India is to inform the Indian government and the political leaders there about the Madhes movement. RSS
