Live Baggage Feed Introduced at Tribhuvan International Airport to Improve Passenger Experience
Kathmandu: Tribhuvan International Airport has introduced a live video feed of the baggage drop area in the baggage claim section of the arrival hall, allowing passengers to monitor the status of their luggage in real time.
The new system has been introduced with the initiative of Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Khadak Raj Paudel ‘Ganesh’ with the aim of making baggage handling more transparent, organized and passenger-friendly.
Under the new arrangement, passengers arriving in Nepal on international flights can view the live feed of the baggage drop area after their luggage is unloaded from the aircraft. The system provides passengers with a visual update on the baggage handling process and its movement toward the baggage carousel.
The initiative is expected to make it easier for passengers to understand the status of their luggage and estimate how long they may have to wait before collecting their baggage.
Previously, passengers had no direct way of knowing how long it would take for baggage unloaded from an aircraft to reach the baggage claim area. As a result, passengers often had to wait without clear information about the progress of baggage handling.
With the live feed now available in the arrival area, passengers can observe ongoing activities in the baggage drop area while waiting for their luggage. The system is expected to make the waiting process more convenient and reduce uncertainty among passengers.
In recent times, Minister Paudel has emphasized improving airport services, adopting modern technology and enhancing passenger convenience. The latest initiative is viewed as part of efforts to improve the overall service experience at Tribhuvan International Airport.
The introduction of the live baggage monitoring system is also expected to strengthen transparency in service delivery and promote the use of technology in airport operations.
The initiative is aimed at improving passenger service standards and making airport services more efficient and user-friendly in line with international practices.
