Last Trading Day of FY 2077/78 Ends on Positive Note; NEPSE Gained an Impressive 111.64% This Fiscal Year

The NEPSE index closed at 2,883.38 today after gaining 11.33 points from yesterday's close. This concludes the journey of Nepal's capital market for the fiscal year, given that today was the last trading day for FY 2077/78. The NEPSE index seems to have bounced back from the support zone at the 2,800 level, but whether the index will surpass the most recent high remains a puzzle to be solved for the next fiscal year.
The first trading day of the upcoming fiscal year will be observed with special attention and enthusiasm by investors. NEPSE had closed at 1,362.34 on the last trading day of the fiscal year 2076/ 77. In the fiscal year 2077/78, the index rose by an impressive 111.64%. A total of 58,502,109 shares exchanged hands amounting to Rs. 8.14 Arba in the turnover amount. 223 scrips traded hands via 73,272 transactions. With this, the total market capitalization stands at Rs. 40,10,95,78,10,000, a massive Rs. 22.17 Kharba gain compared to the figure reported on the last day of the previous fiscal year.
Gurkhas Finance Limited (GUFL) had the highest turnover of Rs. 36.7 crore closing at a market price of Rs. 1,250 per share. It is tailed by NIC Asia Bank Limited (NICA) in terms of total turnover with a figure of about Rs. 33.11 crores. On the last day of the previous fiscal year, NIC Asia Bank Limited (NICA) had the highest turnover of Rs. 10.40 crore closing at a market price of Rs. 553 per share.
The units of Mero Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited Promoter Share (MEROPO) traded the most.
Float is up by 0.94 points and is currently at 200.34. Similarly, the Sensitive Index is currently at 541.31 after gaining 1.93 points from the previous close.
Ngadi Group Power Limited (NGPL) gained the most 9.4% while 10.35% ADBL Krisi Bank Rinpatra 2083 (ADBLD83) lost the most 3.9%.
6 sectors gained today while 7 others ended red. Hydropower gained the most 1.98% and Hotels And Tourism lost the most 1.4%. The Hotels sector was also the highest loser on the last day of the previous fiscal year with a 3% loss.
