Land leasing agreement with four industries scrapped
MAKAWANPUR, Aug 4:
Hetauda Industrial Estate Management Office has scrapped the agreement to provide land to four industries after they failed to establish factories even years after signing the lease contract..
The office scrapped lease agreements with Basudha Marble Private Limited, VNV Textile Private Limited, Global Right Systems Private Limited and Continental Service Private Limited.
The decision to scrap lease agreement was taken keeping in view the growing demand for industrial spaces in Hetauda Industrial Estate, officials said.
The office had signed lease agreement with Bashudha Marble Private for 20 ropani of land 15 years ago. Similarly, VNV Textile Private Limited had signed agreement to lease 10 ropani of land 12 years ago, while Global and Continental had signed lease agreement for six ropani and 15 ropani of land nine years ago and five years ago, respectively.
Dilip Shrestha, chief of the Industrial Estate Management Office, said they scrapped lease agreements as per the recommendation of a nine-member panel formed by the office. "We will scrap agreements of other industries which are holding industrial spaces for long without installing their plants," he said, adding, "Because of such industries, new industries aren't getting space in the industrial estate."
Industries get various facilities at the industrial estate. For example, annual leasing fee is just Rs 6,300 per ropani.
Officials of the office say they will now be able to lease out spaces to new industries which will not only increase its revenue but also create new jobs.
There are 60 industries in the estate.
