Kirloskar launches mega T in Nepal; aims Farm Mechanization for small farmers
Kirloskar, after studying the needs & purposes of farmers across India, Bangladesh and Nepal has developed & launched its first product “Mega T” in Farm Mechanization segment. The focus specially is on small & marginal farmers. These farmers, who have less than 2.0 ha of land, cannot afford expensive mechanization like tractors. However they are in need of farm mechanization solutions to improve productivity. Kirloskar addresses this need of small farmers.
The revolutionary product ‘Mega T’ is a multi-applications machine that looks like a tiller but works like a tractor where farmers can sit on the machine and operate in the field comfortably in dry land as well as wet land applications. Mega T with a high torque engine provides more power & better back up torque with extra engine life. Fuel consumption is less and the Engine is “BS” Certified and have a Trem III engine which plays a vital role for pollution control rather than other machines. It has, for the first time in this category of the machine, introduced features like mid PTO (Power Take Off), certified driver seat (In 15HP segment) and disc actuated brakes. The better balancing, safety features, tractor style bonnet and more space for entry & exit facilitates easy working for farmer and he can relax while operating in the field.
Kirloskar’s smart farm machines are manufactured at the company’s new manufacturing site at Kagal, near Kolhapur, Maharashtra, with a production capacity of 18,000 machines per annum. The company has also launched Mega T 15 - DLX (Key start, mobile charger, etc.), Mega T 15 RTH (for haulage and drawn applications), Mega T 15s (base model) variants as per farmer’s need. They have also developed further variants in the 5, 8 and 12 HP segment to suit the needs of the farmers. Power Weeder of 8 Hp is now available in the market of Nepal.
Mega T is now available across India, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh through 3S (Sales, service & spares) dealers. During the opening ceremony of showroom of the “Mega T” at Bhaktapur, chairman of Dugar Group Mr. Motilal Dugar expressed his happiness to be attached with a renowned company and said “ I am very happy to import the product which will improve the living and standards of all small and marginal farmers ”. He also said that he was aiming to green all barren lands of farmers through this product if the government of Nepal will help the farmers with the subsidies provided for Agri modernization. He also suggested the machine to all farmers saying “Mega-T is more durable, powerful & Multipurpose Agri Machine and it will meet all the needs of Nepalese farmers and they can take many advantage from the machine as much as they can”
