Kanchanpur Mobilizes Over Rs 10 Million for Flood Relief and Rehabilitation

Kanchanpur has mobilized more than Rs 10 million in financial assistance for relief, rescue, and rehabilitation efforts following the devastating floods. The funds have been collected through contributions from local governments, institutions, organizations, businesses, and individuals and deposited into the Prime Minister’s Natural Disaster Relief Fund.

Among the major contributors, Shuklaphanta Municipality provided Rs 7 lakh, while Far-Western University contributed Rs 88 lakh collected through salary contributions from its faculty and staff members.

The Kanchanpur Industries and Commerce Association contributed Rs 5.25 lakh, while Little Buddha Academy donated Rs 8.25 lakh to support flood-affected communities.

Several local cooperatives and organizations have also extended financial assistance. Udayadev Cooperative Society, Megha Cooperative and other institutions have contributed to the relief effort.

Schools, businesses and other organizations across the district have also joined the fundraising campaign, with individual contributions ranging from Rs 51,000 to Rs 1 lakh.

Gurukul International School is further organizing a religious festival to raise additional funds for flood victims, adding another dimension to the community-led relief campaign.

The broad participation from government bodies, educational institutions, businesses, cooperatives and the wider community reflects Kanchanpur’s collective response to the disaster and its commitment to supporting affected families through relief and rehabilitation efforts.
