Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank Limited, in collaboration with the Sarwodaya Project and Inclusive Letters and Research, conducted a financial literacy program for visually impaired individuals in Kathmandu. The session, led by the bank’s Head of Branding and CSR, Sushil Poudel, focused on essential topics such as savings, budgeting, financial discipline, investment planning, digital transactions, and online fraud awareness.

Over 40 visually impaired participants attended the event. Sharing personal experiences, Krishna Khatri Abiral stated that due to a lack of timely financial knowledge, he previously avoided banking and relied on others to manage his savings, which led to uncertainty. However, after the session, participants expressed increased confidence in using banking services independently.

Bikram Patharia, another visually impaired attendee, noted that the program instilled hope in the power of small savings to lead to significant financial growth.

Sarwodaya Project representative Saugat Wagle, himself visually impaired, praised the bank for providing inclusive services such as mobile banking and ATM cards to visually impaired customers, helping them enjoy secure financial access like others.

In a move toward inclusive banking, Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank announced the introduction of the "Swabhimaan Savings Account" tailored for visually impaired individuals. This account offers services like ATM and mobile banking without requiring extra documentation or a witness. Importantly, account terms will also be available in Braille, ensuring accessible and independent financial management for visually impaired customers.
